You bet! You can use guns in Dead Island 2, and they range in type and power as you progress through the game. Expect to find:

- Shotguns
- Submachine Guns
- Nailguns
- Rifles
It’s perhaps not the largest selection of zombie-slaying weapons we’ve ever seen in a video game, but it’s a nice, varied assortment. You should find a suitable favorite to help you out of a tough spot in a pinch. For instance, the Machine Pistol is a fast-firing sidearm that can spray down a small horde in seconds!

How to Get Guns in Dead Island 2
Many will likely choose a melee weapon primarily for its visceral feel in combat. However, a gun provides a valuable backup in certain situations. It’s a matter of finding one, however.
You can get guns in the game through quest rewards, scouting the map, and looting key locations. Your first firearm, the Sporting Rifle, is fantastic on its own. It’s possible to finish the game using only your melee weapons and this semi-automatic rifle to deal long-range damage to zombies. However, it’s not as fun.
But keep in mind that while guns don’t have the same durability meter as melee weapons and don’t break the same, they require ammunition. It’s a rare resource that you’ll want to conserve in the zombie apocalypse!
