I grew up playing Harvest Moon on handheld, and then I picked up Stardew Valley on launch day and never turned back. Despite its prominent spot at the top of my favorite games list, I still venture out frequently to check out other cozy farming games. The cozier, the better! And Starsand Island, with its character customization, vehicles, and vibrant aesthetics, looks about as cozy as one can get in 2025!
It’s Confirmed, You Can Customize Your Character in Starsand Island
Especially in a cozy sim in which you can interact with other characters and potentially romance them, I always want the ability to customize my character. It allows me, and most of you too, to become more immersed in the game world.
Thankfully, Starsand Island does offer character customization. In the trailer (scroll up!), we see options for:
- Hats
- Tops
- Bottoms
- Footwear
- Gloves
- Makeup
- Lips
- Cheeks
- Eyeshadow
- Eye Color
- Eyelashes
- Eyebrows
- Skin Tone
Oddly enough, it looks like you can brush your teeth, too! Your romantic partner will probably love that.

Oh, And There Are Functional Vehicles
As for vehicles, the trailer provides us with an extensive look at the game’s movement mechanics and vehicle diversity. You won’t ride a horse in this cozy farming game, though we hope it’s still an option. Instead, you’ll traverse the world in:
- Mopeds
- Trucks
- Skateboards
- Rollerblades
- Glider
- Motorcycles
- Sports Cars
- Boats (?)
And while you’re at it, spending a little extra dough will allow you to customize your vehicle’s:
- Body
- Interior
- Wheels
Starsand Island is shaping up to be one of the most immersive and customizable cozy farming games on the market, and it’s coming to a Steam store near you sometime this year!
