In my humble opinion, one of the best parts of any cozy farming sim, or any life sim in general, is romanceable characters and marriage. It offers an additional sense of progression and immersion that can’t be beat. In Coral Island, you have 28 romanceable characters to woo and tie down, and they’re all vastly different. Here is how to get married in Coral Island!
How to Marry Your Boo in Coral Island
While many will focus solely on progressing their farm and net worth, Coral Island does feature an extensive romance mechanic that, as of Update 1.2, features a renewed sense of progression and additional heart mechanics and events.
To marry in Coral Island, you must first pick a partner, interact with them regularly via dialogue and by giving gifts that they love (different for every character!), until you reach Friendship Level 8. Upon doing so, you’ll receive a letter in the mail from Sanchez Brothers Blacksmith. They’ll explain that, now that you’re getting close to someone in town, they have a locket available for 1,500 currency that allows you to begin dating said character.
After giving the locket to your desired prospect (I’m partial to Yuri, personally), you’ll continue progressing their heart levels until you reach ten. At the 10th heart event, do not reject their romance. If you do, you’ll lose heart levels, and they’ll pull back. Instead, profess your love, and then you may buy a Diamond Ring from the Sanchez Brothers Blacksmith for 5,000 currency.
That said, there are a few additional requirements to consider before handing over the ring:
- Farmhouse Level 3
- View all of the character’s Heart Events
They’ll reject your proposal with the Diamond Ring if you do not meet the above conditions. If you do, however, they’ll accept, and you may purchase Wedding Attire for the day of the big bash!

Can You Marry Co-op Players in Coral Island?
As of Update 1.2, dubbed the Multiplayer and Romance update, for Coral Island, you can now marry co-op partners!
Alternatively, if you’d rather play with your co-op buddy without playing with them, you can choose to romance and marry separately. All of the game’s many romanceable characters are available to both players, though you cannot marry the same individual.
How to Divorce in Coral Island
Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on how you look at things, you cannot get divorced in Coral Island. There is no option to break up with a romantic interest or end your marriage, unless you want to roll back your save. You can find the save file within the game’s folder, likely under the Steam directory.
