Is Helldivers 2 on PlayStation 4?
In what is undoubtedly an odd decision, considering most new releases offer backward compatibility to some extent, you cannot play Helldivers 2 on PS4. When developer Arrowhead announced the game, they were pretty straightforward about it coming to PC and PS5, and many figured the latter meant backward compatibility for PS4 owners.
Unfortunately, that’s not the case. It’s a waste of money if you can even purchase the game off the PlayStation Store from a PS4 console, so please don’t waste your time!

Is Helldivers 2 Coming to Other Consoles?
Despite the game having a staggering number of daily players, with a spectacular all-time peak, it’s unlikely we’ll see Helldivers 2 launch on any other systems. Unfortunately, it’s certainly not coming to Xbox. Many wish it would, but they’ll have to stick with Gears 5.
As for past consoles, like the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or, more laughably, the Nintendo Switch, it’s not happening. Helldivers 2 isn’t the best-looking game of the year, but it’s undoubtedly more intensive than many older pieces of hardware can handle.
For now—likely always—you can play Helldivers 2 on PC and PlayStation 5!
