They’re easier to get into and out of, which is essential for a busy parent with a hectic lifestyle. It seems too few games opt for a solo component, though. Is Gray Zone Warfare Single-Player?
You can absolutely play Gray Zone Warfare single-player, completely solo, without the help of a team of AI or other players. However, developer Madfinger Games stated that going into the world alone is more challenging. You won’t have a squad to watch your back.
Instead of relying on another player or two to help you tackle objectives, you’ll have only yourself, your weapon platform, and a handful of supplies. As such, it’s likely best if you opt for stealth. You can hide in the bushes, use your binoculars to scope out key locations and avoid enemy patrols to increase survivability.
Should you play Gray Zone Warfare solo? That depends on you and how you enjoy playing tactical shooters. I occasionally hop into Escape From Tarkov or Ready or Not entirely solo, and sometimes I succeed. Often, however, I don’t.

Is Gray Zone Warfare Always Online?
As a multiplayer-focused game with PvEvP elements, Gray Zone Warfare is always online. Sadly, there is no offline mode to speak of. I know that’s a massive turnoff for so many players, and rightfully so, but it’s the reality of the genre.
Gray Zone Warfare’s core mechanics and gameplay elements wouldn’t work without a stable internet connection tying the whole server together. While you’re sneaking into a village to scope out safe houses, avoiding enemy patrols in the process, another player group is on the opposite side of town planting a bomb. If you cross paths, it might be an amicable meeting. Or, it might wind up in a town-wide firefight with players and AI partaking.
These types of moments don’t happen offline.
