Borderlands 1 and 2 were my jam, though I did find myself growing more annoyed by Claptrap with each passing release, and then Borderlands 3 came along. It was, gameplay-wise, exceptional, but the writing and dialogue prevented me from enjoying the experience as intended. But there’s a new opportunity around every corner, and now Gearbox has unveiled the Borderlands 4 release date. Here’s what we know currently!
When Does Borderlands 4 Release?
Long-time fans, rejoice! The official Borderlands 4 release date is set for September 12, 2025.
As of this writing, we’re still a few months out from launch day, but with so many hit titles launching between now and then, the wait for Borderlands 4 should pass quickly enough!
What Platforms is Borderlands 4 Launching On?
On launch, Borderlands 4 will be available on:
- PC
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X|S

How Much Does Borderlands 4 Cost?
There is currently no price tag set for Borderlands 4, though we suspect it will launch with multiple editions, including a Standard Edition for $69.99, as is common today with video game launches.
