Blackwood Is Like A John Wick Game With a Day Job

Developer AttritoM7 Productions, the studio behind tactical first-person shooter Zero Hour, hopes to impress action fans once more with its upcoming John Wick-like game, Blackwood. In Blackwood, you play as Anton Blackwood, the owner of a small DVD shop in Brooklyn in 2012, but by night, you’re a trained hitman tackling the city’s seedy underbelly. It’s coming to PC sometime in 2026!

If you love the John Wick films and always wondered why we didn’t have a game with a similar style and flair, despite there being a licensed John Wick video game out there, well, wonder no more. Blackwood features close-quarters combat, impressive gun-fu-style takedowns, and cinematic fight sequences, with a touch of humanity as you run your DVD store during the day.

Sadly, we’ll have to wait quite some time before the Blackwood release date ever hits our news desk. It’s coming sometime in 2026, but that’s all we know for now!

Key Features in Blackwood

  • Unmatched Takedown System – Over 30 contextual finishers, from environmental kills to cinematic executions.
  • Grounded but Stylish Combat – Third-person cover mechanics, responsive movement, and 30+ unique weapons.
  • Dual-Life Roleplay – Manage a DVD store by day; take contracts and spill blood by night.
  • Authentic 2012 New York – Detailed world-building, from street ads to hidden lore in apartments.
  • Cinematic Storytelling – Seamless transitions between gameplay and cutscenes with flawed, human characters.
  • In-House Original Soundtrack – Music composed and performed by the studio’s own band, driving both story and combat intensity.

Don’t forget to Wishlist the game on Steam!
