You can find Resin within the game world by chopping down hardwood trees and bringing the hardwood back to your settlement to burn in a Charcoal Burner. I’ve noticed many players foregoing this final step. They track down numerous hardwood groves and chop down every tree in sight but find a distinct lack of Resin.
There’s a catch, however. The Charcoal Burner is a Tier 3 structure, requiring a Town Hall to unlock in the Research Desk. Once you have the research complete, the Charcoal Burner requires the following construction material to build:
- x26 Cob
- x25 Thatch
- x6 Rope
- x14 Hardwood Log
- x22 Moss
Overall, reaching the point where you require a Charcoal Burner and Resin means you’re nearing the current end-game level of your settlement in the Early Access build!

Where to Buy Resin in Bellwright
If you don’t want to wait around to complete research and construction, then you could always buy Resin in Bellwright. It’s available from Padstow, the town to the south of your starting location, but only after you liberate the village.
Once you free the people, check their daily trade shop regularly. You’ll find plenty of Resin to satisfy your many crafting and construction projects back home. Just be sure to have enough coin to trade!
