While the extraction shooter genre has been around in some form for quite a few years now, it’s still relatively in its infancy. We’re only recently starting to see massive projects take off and gain traction. As such, I believe I can count on one hand the number of extraction shooters on consoles. So, is Beautiful Light coming to PS5?
Will Beautiful Light Come Out on PS5?
As of right now, there is no official release date for Beautiful Light on PS5. Could it happen? Absolutely. Developer Deep Worlds expressed interest in releasing the game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, so long as the PC version does well enough.
So, I won’t tell you to run out and buy the game on PC the day it launches, as that’s your decision, but the more copies it sells there, the more likely they’ll bring it to consoles.
Of course, sales metrics are one thing. The studio must retain a player base for the game to be considered a success.

Other Extraction Shooters on PS5
Please correct me, but the only extraction shooter I can think of on PlayStation 5 is the newly released Hunt: Showdown 1865, a massive rehaul of the core game by developer Crytek. The platform could certainly use more competition.
That said, there are a ton of looter shooters, which many consider the sibling of extraction shooters. Some top choices on PS5 include:
- Borderlands 3
- Destiny 2
- Remnant 2
- The Division 2
Yeah, it’s a lot of sequels!
