But it appears as if I’m not the only one struggling, so here’s a handful of fixes to help you connect. I managed to get online and dive for Super Earth, so hopefully, you will, too!
Is Helldivers 2’s Servers Down Again?
Following the liberation of Tien Kwan in Helldivers 2, which led to the introduction of the Patriot Exosuit, the game’s servers appear to have fallen to the Terminid menace once more. It’s like launch week all over again, though it’s certainly a good sign. It means the community is banding together to stop the encroaching enemies on their destructive path to Super Earth.
If you’re struggling to connect to Helldivers 2 because of the “failed to connect to server error,” try the following:
- Close out of your game, fully shut down anything related to Helldivers 2 in the background, like it’s anti-cheat, and then launch it again.
- Try to verify the game’s files via the Steam Library. To do so:
- Right-click Helledivers 2
- Select Properties
- Choose Installed Files
- Then click Verify integrity of game files
- It will run for a few minutes, then redownload any missing/corrupted files or download a game update
- Wait it out patiently. May I recommend checking out Stardew Valley? It’s super relaxing—a stark contrast to the frantic and chaotic gameplay of Helldivers 2!

What’s Causing the Helldivers 2 Servers to Fail?
It’s tough to say. We can only guess from an outside perspective, but it seems as if the rallying call to retake Tien Kwan worked too well. An additional 40,000 or so players were online this morning, fighting for the planet’s liberation.
That many Helldivers at once, even with Arrowhead’s preparation, like caused some turmoil for the game’s servers. But hey, it appears as if everything is slowly returning to normal!
