I love it when a game allows me to play single-player. While I certainly don’t mind playing with a group, especially in a survival-crafting game, I’d prefer to experience a title for the first time solo. It allows me a chance to delve into the world-building, lore, and gameplay mechanics without the constant chatter or running jokes a friend group provides. So, with that in mind, here’s how to play single player in Abiotic Factor!
How to Play Single Player in Abiotic Factor
After working through the game’s prologue, which serves as its tutorial, you can start a new world using the character you just created. You can play multiplayer with up to six players in a single world or play a single-player in Abiotic Factor. It’s fun either way, honestly!
After you choose, you’ll load into your new world. But once you quit out, it doesn’t save the world settings. The next time you boot up the game and hit ‘Load,’ you’ll see the window in the screenshot above. In the right-hand box, you can select “Singleplayer Only,” allowing you to load into a solo server.

Can You Pause Abiotic Factor in Single Player?
As a busy individual constantly jumping between projects and dealing with a toddler in the house, I love it when a modern game allows me to pause. Unfortunately, it’s becoming increasingly more rare. That’s not the case with Abiotic Factor, though!
Launching a single-player world in the game will give you a chance to pause anytime you want. It completely stops the gameplay in the background, meaning you can take a breather following a tough fight or because you need a sip of water after playing for the last three hours.
