One of the fundamental mechanics in this unique first-person shooter is that you’re the leader of a crime syndicate, and, as such, you can hire minions to do your bidding. If you don’t want to place Baker in danger, which can ruin your entire run, you’ll want to learn how to switch characters in Crime Boss: Rockay City!
How to Swap Characters in Crime Boss: Rockay City
To switch between your available characters in Crime Boss: Rockay City, once you select your team and load into a heist, hold down ‘Tab‘ on the keyboard or hold ‘Left‘ on the D-Pad on a controller. This action brings up the bot menu in-game, allowing you to switch between one of the available characters or give orders to the entire squad. You can have them follow you or wait for you with a single command for either option.
Swapping characters in Crime Boss: Rockay City is beneficial; you’ll lose the entire run if Baker dies. If you must bring him along, as he provides you with a significant boost to earnings, consider keeping him back while you send a minion forth to stealth or breach the entry.

How to Unlock New Characters in Crime Boss: Rockay City
From the game’s city map, select “Team” from the top menu. Here, you’ll see your currently available team, consisting of Baker and three other companions. You can hire them from the bottom right menu as you earn more money and unlock additional teammates. There are only ever a few available to hire, and you can only bring four per mission, so choose wisely!
As you progress through the roguelike game mode, you’ll unlock additional teammates through missions and rewards upon leveling up. They’ll then become part of the companion pool for you to hire.
